Missions We at Hope
Community Church of God are very involved with work in the mission field. We
support missionaries in far flung areas of the globe. We start in Arkansas with
Campus Crusade for Christ lead by Mike and Dana Clowers, reaching students of
all ages on college campuses. Also supported
by our congregation is Partners In Missions led by Rev. Karvin and Sandy Adams,
who have been on the mission field for many years, reaching the native Americans
of Quito, Ecuador, and in Latin America. There are schools, as well as churches
to meet the needs of the people there. Several work camps are available during
the year to help with building needs and reaching the lost. Work camps last 7-10
days including travel time and a bit of sight seeing. The goal is to train and
encourage native pastors for the churches. We also support
Rev. Eddie Viray, in the Philippines. Rev. Viray has been involved in
establishing 100 churches in the Philippines. Many church buildings, as
well as homes in the country have been destroyed recently by hurricanes and
storms. There are also work camps to this area. We have also
been involved in work camps in Guatemala – with our Youth group going for a
work camp during the summer. In Paupau, New
Guinea, Lee and Karen Wood are involved with Wycliffe Bible Translators. She is
a Registered Nurse, operating a clinic in the area. He is a helicopter
repairman. They have been on the mission field for many years, and for the first
time, left their children here in the states as they traveled back to Paupau.
Their children have grown up in New Guinea, are now college age and have come to
the states to continue their education. Our budget for
Missions is solely supported by “Faith Promise” giving. This is not a part
of regular tithes and offerings. God supplies all the finances to us and we give
it back to Him through Missions. |
